Description

The theme for the 2021 Christmas stamps is angels and light. Christmas is the festival of lights and in the Christmas story together with the star of Bethlehem play an important role in the later birth of Jesus. Six different close-up photos of angel sculptures are depicted on the six stamps. The images are in black and white. Together with the rays of light that seem to come from a star behind the sculpture, this creates dramatic scenes with an almost mystical atmosphere. The pose of the angels are different posts, which arises between the six.

White space has been left on the left side of each stamp for the country name Curaçao. Curaçao is represented in capitals in a gold-colored, Gothic-style font, which enhances the magic of the stamp. The warm pantone color gold forms a strong contrast with the ‘silver’ appearance of the angels. The postage stamps are also shown in a Gothic font. The white postage values contrast with the background.

By working only with gold and ‘silver’, modest Christmas stamps are created, in which the essence of the festival of light is expressed.
