About Fight Against Cancer
On the 22nd of August 2014 CPost International will issue a series of stamps’Fight against Cancer to commemorate the 65th anniversary of Stichting Prinses Wilhelmina Fonds. The objective of the stamps is to make our community more conscious of the different kind of cancers. The complete set consists of six stamps.
86c Cervical cancer. At least half of sexually active people will have HPV at some point in their lives, but few women will get cervical cancer.
119C Leukemia is cancer of blood cells. When Leukemia develops, the body produces a large number of abnormal blood cells. In most types of leukemia, the abnormal cells are white blood cells.
177c Breast-cancer. There are many types of breast cancer. Some species are common, others are rare. They are classified by where they arise or grow, the form in which they grow and the possibility of metastases.
183c – Intestine cancer is a rare cancer that forms in tissues of the small intestine. The most common type is the one that begins in cells that make and release mucus and other fluids.
285c Prostate cancer forms in tissues of the prostate. Prostate cancer usually occurs in older men.
750c Lung cancer. The two main types are small cell lung cancer and non-small cell lung cancer. These types are diagnosed based on how the cells look under a microscope.
